Bryce goofed. He goofed badly. He needed consolation and he decided to go to the only person whom he actually considered a friend: Grey. Bryce slowly walked to Grey's dorm and when he reached it, he rapped his knuckles against the wooden door. He was just so frustrated with himself. He leaned his head against the door so that he was supporting his body with his head and feet. He let his arms hang limply and sighed loudly.

Adalia held the piece of paper between her index and middle finger, as she took a drag from her cigarette. "Off hook." Adalia smirked. No task for her? No task. No work. No secrets revealed. "Well, fuck," she said with a grin. "Thank you Mr. Tobias Clay." Adalia gave a deep, exaggerated bow to the air. She didn't believe in the camp's legend. She was pretty sure it was some kid playing a mean prank on everyone. Some heartless kid. A kid that probably has tons of problems of his or her own. But that was fine with her; it kept the mood alive. It kept people in check.

Noah was sitting in a tree reading over the note that he had found in his bed earlier. "You're off the hook," it said. It was apparently from the Gossip Guy. Rumor had it that he knew everyone's secrets. Noah couldn't let anyone find out anything about his past. He could barely handle it himself. Noah stuffed the piece of paper back in his pocket and adjusted his beanie before leaning his body forward unto the large branch supporting his body. He was relieved that he wasn't given a task, but at the same time slightly disappointed, as if he wasn't part of the festivities.

Bryce sat in the cafeteria to eat his lunch. He was feeling like crap. Something about the whole situation just didn't seem right to him. He should have been eating lunch with his family around a table, maybe in a park or something. But they were too insufferable. It perturbed him that this place was actually his sanctuary. Bryce squash his food with his fork angrily. He wasn't really in the mood for eating.

You know how optimistic I am; I'm always looking on the bright side. I don't want to think of the bad things, so the good things should be the things examined -- at least, that's how /I/ think it is. I always claimed that I would be the bringer of something good to this place. That I'd make some sort of difference.
 
And I did! I was on my way to go to turn in my papers. I had to give a kid detention the other day and you know how much paperwork that is. Some people wonder why I'm so lenient. Paperwork, that's why. Anyway, I was on my way to turn in the obnoxious amounts of paperwork and caught one of my students drinking and smoking behind the dorm building! It was Camryn, a bright, talented girl. It was upsetting to see her in such a condition, so I approached and interrogated her.
 
Any other teacher would have just turned her into the office, and I ask, what good would that have done? She would have stopped her behaviour while she was in the presence of an authority (perhaps, maybe not even) and then go back to the same destructive behaviour as before. But if you build a relationship between these kids and then ask them to stop with earnest care, then, most likely, they'll be willing to oblige.
 
That's what I'm proud of doing. Hopefully, this is long-term. And even if it isn't, hopefully, she can see that someone cares about her.
